Attributes & Skills Needed

Banishing Variables
-
Target Spirit – The spirit you want to banish
-
Spirit’s Force – Force of the target spirit
-
Target’s Summoner Magic – If the spirit is bound, summoner’s Magic adds to resistance
-
Mentor Spirit Bonus – If applicable
-
Banishing Focus – Optional, can add hits or reduce Drain
-
Wound Modifier – Subtract from dice pool if injured
-
Your Hits – Rolled by you
-
Spirit Hits – Rolled by GM
-
Drain Damage Value (DV) – Calculated from spirit hits
Banishing Steps
Step 1: Build Your Banishing Pool

Choose a target spirit, noting its Force, type, and whether it is bound.

Add your Magic Attribute to your dice pool.

Add your Banishing Skill to your pool.
-
Add Mentor Spirit bonus if applicable.
-
Optionally, add Banishing Focus rating if not saved for Drain resistance.
-
Subtract any Wound Modifiers.
Step 2: Roll the Pool

Roll your dice pool.
-
Count your hits.
-
Notify GM if you glitch.
Step 3: Compare to Spirit

GM rolls spirit’s Force for hits; if bound, also add summoner’s Magic rating.

Subtract spirit hits from your hits:
-
Hits ≤ 0 → Banishing fails, nothing happens
-
Hits > 0 → Each remaining hit reduces the spirit’s owed services. If services drop to zero, spirit will leave on its next action

Step 4: Calculate Drain
- Drain DV = Spirit hits × 2 (minimum 2)
Step 5: Resist Drain

Start a new dice pool: Willpower + Drain Resistance Attribute

If Banishing Focus wasn’t used earlier, add it now
-
Roll your dice pool. Each hit reduces Drain DV by 1
Step 6: Apply Drain Damage

If Drain DV > 0 after resistance:

Physical if Spirit Force > Magic

Stun otherwise
