Summoning Variables

Spirit Type – Choose the type of spirit to summon

Force – Desired Force of the spirit

Mentor Spirit Bonus – If applicable

Summoning Focus – Optional, can add hits or reduce Drain

Wound Modifier – Subtract from dice pool
-
Spirit Hits – Rolled by GM
-
Your Hits – Rolled by you
-
Drain Damage Value (DV) – Calculated based on spirit’s hits
Summoning Steps
Step 1: Build Your Summoning Pool

Choose Spirit Type and Force.

Add Magic Attribute to your dice pool.

Add Summoning Skill to your dice pool.
-
Add Mentor Spirit modifier if it applies.
-
Optionally, add Summoning Focus rating if not saved for Drain resistance.

Subtract any Wound Modifiers.
Step 2: Roll the Pool

Roll your dice pool.
-
Count your hits.
-
Notify GM if you glitch.
Step 3: Compare to Spirit

GM rolls spirit’s Force for hits.

Subtract spirit’s hits from your hits:
-
Hits ≤ 0 → Summoning fails, spirit does not appear
-
Hits > 0 → Each remaining hit = a service the spirit owes you
-
Step 4: Calculate Drain
- Drain DV = Spirit Hits × 2 (minimum 2)
Step 5: Resist Drain

Start a new dice pool: Willpower + Drain Resistance Attribute
-
If Summoning Focus wasn’t used earlier, add it now
-
Roll your dice pool
-
For each hit, subtract 1 from the Drain DV
Step 6: Apply Drain Damage

If DV > 0 after resistance:

Apply to Condition Monitor:

Physical if Spirit Force > Magic

Stun otherwise
